This is an application form and program description for the First Lutheran Foundation Scholarship Grant program for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. The Foundation is pleased to provide financial support to full-time, qualified, eligible students. To be considered for the scholarship, you must me the following requirements:
• Only students who are currently active in the life of the
church are eligible. “Active” is defined by the requested
information on the application form. A summary of past
and current involvement should be fully listed. The
Foundation is looking to assist students who are
committed in their faith and actively living it out through the ministry of First Lutheran or a ministry in
the place where they attend college. Simply having
your name on the membership rolls of the church or
having been confirmed at First Lutheran does not make
you eligible.
• Involvement in school and community is to be included.
The Foundation is interested in knowing how you live
out our faith active in love.
• Grade transcripts must be received at the church.
• Applications are received between January 1 and
April 1 of each year. The deadline for receiving
applications is April 1 at 5 p.m.
• The Foundation will review your application after April 1
and inform you of their decision during the month of
May. Checks for scholarship grants are issued in June
and are made out to both the student and institution of
higher education.
Whether or not you receive a scholarship grant is based upon current faithfulness and activity in the life of the church and wider community.
