Outdoor ministry has supplemented the congregation of First Lutheran Church for many years as children, youth, families, and seniors meet in retreat for faith nourishment and holy play. First Lutheran Church has a long relationship with Luther Park Bible Camp in Chetek, Wisconsin, and utilizes this year-round camp as an extension of its own ministry. Luther Park retreat facilities can house up to 220 people at one time.
First Lutheran Foundation has affirmed the congregation’s relationship with Luther Park Bible Camp by providing the funds to build the Emmaus Cabin. The Emmaus Cabin is a fully winterized, duplex cabin. Each bedroom has sleeping accommodations for 10 people as well as its own private bathroom. The community space in each cabin is furnished with a table and 8-10 chairs, a small refrigerator, and a microwave.

First Lutheran Foundation seeks to set aside funds to fully maintain the Emmaus Cabin and provide matching funds to First Lutheran Church for youth camp scholarships so all can attend Bible Camp regardless of financial means.
