Church Capital Needs

While the regular maintenance of the facilities of First Lutheran Church is the ongoing responsibility of the congregation, First Lutheran Foundation significantly supports the church in the area
of capital improvements. Capital improvements are larger, more costly projects that are over and above the budget for repair and maintenance.

The Foundation has assisted with such capital projects as refurbishing the Sunday School classrooms; constructing a small group gathering space called the “Norway Room;” renovating the lower level of the church for youth ministry; creating office space for youth, education, and music staff; and expanding the north parking lot with handicap spaces.

Each year, the Foundation provides up to $15,000 for major projects that keep our church facility attractive, modern, and functional. With fund growth, the Foundation hopes to be in a position to provide $50,000 annually for future projects such as electrical upgrades, heating and air-conditioning replacement, facility additions, and property acquisition.

Support of this portion of First Lutheran Foundation’s portfolio will ensure First Lutheran Church will continue
to be the center of ministry for generations to come.
